Armed robbers struck a luxury watch store in Munich's Bahnhofsviertel on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a police response involving around 40 patrol cars and a helicopter. Two suspects are in custody and a third man is being held.
The robbery
At about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, at least two armed men entered an inconspicuous jewelry store on Goethestrasse in Munich's Bahnhofsviertel. The store, which has no shop window display, sells luxury watches and custom jewelry. Four employees were present during the robbery; all emerged unharmed. The perpetrators made off with goods worth several hundred thousand euros, according to police estimates.
Police response
Munich police launched an immediate pursuit, deploying approximately 40 patrol cars and a helicopter. The suspects fled toward the main train station in a vehicle. The operation spread across the city center, but authorities said there was no immediate danger to the public.

Arrests and evidence
Within hours, officers arrested two men suspected of carrying out the heist. A third man was also taken into custody, though his involvement is being assessed.
