
Minibus with 11 passengers overturns on DN2 in Vrancea, Red Intervention Plan activated
A minibus carrying 11 people rolled over early Friday on the DN2-E85 road in Vrancea county, prompting authorities to activate the Red Intervention Plan. Five passengers were injured, three of them taken to hospital.
Accident
Around 05:00 on Friday, a minibus with 11 passengers overturned on the DN2-E85 national road between the localities of Golești and Cotești in Vrancea county. The driver, a 38-year-old man from Focșani, lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and rolled over. A breathalyzer test administered to the driver returned negative.

Emergency response
Due to the number of people involved, the Vrancea Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) activated the Red Intervention Plan, a protocol for mass-casualty incidents.
At the level of Vrancea county, the Red Intervention Plan was activated as a result of a road accident on DN2 - E85, in the locality of Cotești, where a minibus overturned off the roadway.
Firefighters dispatched a water and foam tender, an extrication vehicle, and four SMURD ambulances, working alongside crews from the Vrancea County Ambulance Service.
Casualties
After a medical evaluation of all 11 occupants, five people required on-site care. Three of them were subsequently transported to hospital for further investigations and specialized treatment. The remaining passengers were not seriously injured.
Investigation
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash. Early reports indicate the driver lost directional control. No evidence of alcohol involvement has been found.
