Four men stabbed in London's Covent Garden, police arrest 47-year-old woman and seize scissors
A 47-year-old woman was arrested after four men were stabbed on a busy street in central London's Covent Garden district on Wednesday.
The attack
Four men were stabbed in the Covent Garden district of central London on Wednesday. The Metropolitan Police received the first call at 12:27 PM London time. Officers responded to Endell Street, a long avenue in an area popular with tourists and theatre-goers, where they found the four injured men.
The victims, aged 34, 39, 42, and 52, were treated at the scene by ambulance crews. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said the service dispatched an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast-response vehicle, and an incident response officer. London's Air Ambulance was also mobilised and landed in nearby Trafalgar Square, drawing attention from passers-by, though the patients were ultimately transported by road to a major trauma centre.
The suspect and weapon
A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. The Metropolitan Police Camden borough delegation confirmed that officers seized a pair of scissors. The suspect remains in custody.

Motive
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the investigation is at an early stage, but officers believe the incident is connected to mental health. The force added that there is currently no evidence pointing to terrorism, though no line of inquiry had been formally ruled out. It is not yet known whether the suspect knew any of the victims.
