An 81st-minute defensive turnover by Łukasz Sekulski near his own penalty box allowed Nowak to pass to Szkurin, who tapped the ball into the net from close range.
Late goals and post-match reactions
Wisła Płock thought it had scored a late goal in the 85th minute through Deni Jurić, but the referee ruled out the strike for offside after a video assistant referee review. Substitute forward Jakub Kokosiński scored the fifth goal for the hosts in stoppage time, finishing from close range in the 91st minute. GKS Katowice manager Rafał Górak praised his team's efficiency following the result.
When you win 5-0, you can say a lot and talk grandly. We played a good match, we were effective. The opponent was not trivial, it was not an easy competition.
Wisła Płock head coach Adam Majewski stated that conceding the first goal changed the match after a promising start by his players.
Until the first goal we were dictating the play and it is a pity that we did not manage to score, because this match could have looked completely different.
