Scott Jamieson wins Nexo Championship in Scotland for first European Tour title in 14 years
Scott Jamieson shot a 5-under-par 67 on Sunday to capture the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, finishing at 11-under to end a 14-year title drought.
Closing round at Trump International
Scott Jamieson captured his second DP World Tour title on Sunday, shooting a 5-under-par 67 at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire. The 42-year-old Scottish golfer finished at 11-under par overall, holding off England's Matthew Jordan by two strokes to win the Nexo Championship on home soil. Jamieson began the final day three shots behind overnight leader Shaun Norris before mounting a charge that included four birdies in five holes around the turn, picking up shots at the fourth, seventh, eighth, tenth, and 11th holes. By the time he reached the back nine, Jamieson held a three-shot advantage over the field.
Fourteen years, that's wild. It's just so tough, so hard to win. I was so patient all day... just can't believe I've won.
Rules penalty and final-round standings
The final round shifted when South Africa's Norris was assessed a two-shot penalty for breaching Rule 8.1, which covers actions that improve conditions affecting a stroke, after flicking away a replaced divot. Norris carded a final-round 76 to drop into a tie for seventh place. Meanwhile, Jordan posted a 2-under 70 to finish runner-up at 9-under par, with his bogey at the 17th hole settling the contest as Jamieson saved par. Fellow Englishman Andy Sullivan shot 68 to take third place at 7-under par. Spain's Q Vidal, Sweden's M Kinhult, and Japan's K Nakajima finished tied for fourth place at 6-under par. Defending champion Grant Forrest recorded an 80 on Sunday to finish 10-over par overall, while Scottish golfers Euan Walker and Connor Syme shared 10th place at 4-under.

Tour card security and Race to Dubai surge
The victory marks Jamieson's first tour title since winning the Nelson Mandela Championship in South Africa in December 2012, spanning a gap of 356 tournament starts over 14 years. Entering the week ranked 136th in the Race to Dubai standings, Jamieson was facing the potential loss of playing privileges that he had held continuously since 2011. The win elevates him to 42nd in the season-long standings, securing full tour exemptions for the next two seasons and positioning him for entry into the season-ending Dubai World Tour Championship. Jamieson previously preserved his tour status with late-season results three years earlier.
That grind is worse than trying to win. Trying to win is enjoyable. But, obviously in the position I was in this year, I was starting to get to the business end of the season and not have a lot of points up on the board. Yeah, to win and get a couple of years of free goes is nice.
Presidential call and Scottish succession
Following the conclusion of play, Jamieson received a video call from US President Donald Trump, maintaining a custom established for tournament winners at the Aberdeenshire venue. The outcome delivers consecutive Scottish victories at the Nexo Championship following Forrest's win 12 months earlier. It also represents the first Scottish triumph on the circuit since Bob MacIntyre won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October 2025. Jamieson, who is based in Florida and originally from Glasgow, had earned his first European Tour breakthrough at age 29 in his 65th career start.
He was very complimentary and it sounds like he was actually watching it. He said he was following along, so it was really cool... I mean he is the President of the United States.
