Wimbledon 2026: Paolini and Cobolli chase historic Italian semifinal treble on Centre Court
Jasmine Paolini and Flavio Cobolli play their quarterfinal matches at Wimbledon today, with a chance to put three Italians in the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the first time.
Two Italian quarterfinals on Centre Court could deliver a historic day for the country's tennis. Jannik Sinner is already through to the last four after beating Jan-Lennard Struff, and now Jasmine Paolini and Flavio Cobolli attempt to join him.
Sinner already through
Sinner secured his semifinal place earlier in the tournament, defeating Germany's Struff. He now has two days of rest before facing Novak Djokovic, who came through the longest quarterfinal in Wimbledon history at age 39. The Serbian's victory sets up a high-profile semifinal.
Paolini vs Kostyuk
Jasmine Paolini opens the Centre Court programme at 14:30 CEST against Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. The Italian, a finalist here in 2024, is seeking her second Wimbledon semifinal. After a difficult start to the season that saw her slip out of the WTA top 10, Paolini appears to have regained form. Kostyuk, ranked 13th in the world, is enjoying the best season of her career: she reached the Roland Garros semifinal and has won 20 of her last 21 matches. Paolini leads their head-to-head 2-1, but the pair have never met on grass and their last encounter was in 2023.
Cobolli vs Fery
Flavio Cobolli follows Paolini on Centre Court, with an estimated start around 17:00 CEST. The world number 10 reached the quarterfinals here last year, losing to Djokovic, and was a finalist at Roland Garros. His opponent is British wild card Arthur Fery, ranked 114th, who has been the surprise of the tournament. Fery beat Grigor Dimitrov in the previous round and is playing in his first Wimbledon quarterfinal. Cobolli lost their only previous meeting, at the 2026 Australian Open, where stomach problems hampered his performance. The winner will face either Taylor Fritz or Alexander Zverev.
How to watch
Both matches are broadcast exclusively on Sky Sport in Italy, with streaming available on Sky Go and NOW. There is no free-to-air coverage.
