The first session of high-level talks under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding concluded in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, with representatives from Iran, the United States and the mediating states of Qatar and Pakistan present. The mediators described the atmosphere as positive and constructive and reported encouraging progress.
Roadmap to a final deal
A High-Level Committee was established to provide political oversight of the mediation process. De-escalation and safe passage
The parties created a coordination cell involving Lebanon, with the participation of Qatar and Pakistan, to guarantee the cessation of military operations in Lebanon. In parallel, a dedicated communication line between Washington and Tehran was activated to prevent incidents and misunderstandings in the Strait of Hormuz and to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi detailed on X what he called significant progress. He listed waivers on oil and petrochemical export restrictions, the lifting of a blockade, the unfreezing of some frozen assets and the launch of an important reconstruction and development plan for Iran.
