Nearly 100 demonstrators gathered on Friday outside the headquarters of Junts in central Barcelona to protest the party's rejection of government housing decrees. The action was organized by the Tenants Union (Sindicato de Inquilinas), prompting a heavy police deployment to guard the entrance to the building.
Demonstrators chanted slogans including "Shame" and "Whoever sows misery reaps rage" in front of tourist groups walking toward the nearby Sagrada Familia. The crowd also voiced calls for both a rent strike and a general strike in response to the party's stance on housing legislation.
