Amazon and La Poste recruit 13,000 seasonal workers across France for holiday parcel peak
Amazon and La Poste have launched seasonal hiring campaigns for 13,000 logistics workers in France to manage package volumes from Black Friday through Christmas.
Peak season logistics expansion
French logistics operators Amazon and La Poste announced recruitment campaigns on 1 October 2026 to manage package surges between Black Friday in November and the Christmas holidays. The two delivery groups are scaling their workforces as daily parcel volumes are projected to double during the final two months of the year. La Poste expects to process up to 3 million parcels per day during the holiday peak, compared to a standard baseline of 1.5 million parcels daily. To handle the volume, La Poste plans to recruit 3,500 seasonal workers, an increase of 500 hires compared to the previous year. The peak parcel period begins with promotional retail sales in late November and continues until the final Christmas deliveries. Postal authorities coordinate delivery schedules across local distribution networks to maintain processing capacity as e-commerce volumes rise.

Compensation and career progression
Amazon logistics positions require no diploma, and entry-level gross monthly salaries start at more than €2,000, equivalent to €13.05 per hour. Employees who transition into permanent contracts and reach 24 months of tenure earn over €2,500 gross per month. Patrick Labarre, president of Amazon France Logistique, presented the seasonal positions as direct pathways into long-term employment.
Last year, nearly 1,700 seasonal workers discovered a profession, benefited from training from the first day without diploma requirements, and joined our teams on permanent contracts.
Labarre stated that upcoming facility openings across the next 18 months will represent 8,000 permanent contracts. Amazon currently employs more than 25,000 people in France and maintains a €50 million training investment plan running through 2030.
Infrastructure investments at La Poste
In addition to seasonal hires, La Poste will mobilize 100,000 mail carriers, sorting agents, and postal counter staff during the peak delivery period. The state-owned operator is executing longer-term capital spending under its strategic plan titled "Réussir ensemble: Ambitions 2031". This initiative commits €10 billion in capital investments over a five-year window. The planned spending focuses on modernizing delivery depots, sorting hubs, IT networks, and industrial logistics facilities to adapt to freight volume growth.
