Norway vs England: Haaland and Kane clash for World Cup semi-final spot in Miami
Saturday's quarter-final in Miami pits Erling Haaland's Norway against Harry Kane's England for a place in the last four of the 2026 World Cup.
England, finalists at the last two European Championships, reached the quarter-final after a 3-2 extra‑time win over Mexico in the last 16, playing part of the match with ten men. Norway are in the last eight for the first time in their history, having beaten Brazil 2-1 in the previous round. Erling Haaland has already scored seven goals at the tournament, while Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane have accounted for ten of England's eleven goals so far.
England's defence is a concern for coach Thomas Tuchel. They are without Jarell Quansah, who is suspended after his red card, and key regulars Reece James, Declan Rice and Marc Guéhi are rated as very uncertain. Norway, by contrast, have a full squad available and will field a side captained by Martin Odegaard, with Haaland leading the line against the country of his birth.
