Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders go live, locking in €80 price and November 19 release
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI opened at midnight on June 25, confirming a €79.99 standard price and a November 19 launch. The game will release only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no physical disc and no confirmed PC version.
Pre-order window opens
On June 25 at midnight local time, pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI went live across Europe. The game had been announced years ago and delayed multiple times, with the latest push from May to November 2026. This opening marks the first concrete step toward the November 19 launch.
Pricing and editions
The standard edition costs €79.99 in Europe and $80 in the United States. A €99.99 Ultimate Edition includes additional cosmetics, vehicles, weapons and outfits for protagonists Lucia and Jason. All pre-order customers receive the "Vintage Vice City Pack". The price is above the typical €70 for new console games, but below fears of a steeper increase. With a development budget reportedly over $1 billion, GTA VI is projected to be the most expensive entertainment product ever made.
Platforms and the physical disc debate
GTA VI will launch only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Older console generations are excluded due to technical demands. PC gamers are not getting a version at launch; Rockstar has not confirmed a date, though past titles eventually came to PC. The game is digital-only: even physical boxes contain a download code rather than a disc, drawing pushback from some players. Pre-loading will be available from November 12, allowing those with pre-orders to download ahead of release day.

Story and legacy
The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a Florida-inspired backdrop that includes Vice City, and follows the criminal couple Lucia and Jason. The first trailer, released in December 2023, set records for a non-music video on YouTube. The series, which began in 1997, has sold over 400 million copies overall; GTA V alone exceeded 200 million.
