Greek Panhellenic exam scores to be released on 25 June, university entry process next

The Greek Ministry of Education instructed grading centres to finalise scores for General and Vocational Lyceum candidates, with results now scheduled for Thursday 25 June 2026.

When will results be published

Hundreds of thousands of students who sat the 2026 Panhellenic Exams will learn their results on Thursday 25 June. The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has issued an urgent directive to all grading centres across the country, instructing them to complete the evaluation of papers in general education, orientation and specialty subjects in time for the scheduled release.

The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports informs that a directive has been sent to the Grading Centres so that grading procedures for the panhellenic subjects of general education, orientation and specialty are completed, in order for the Panhellenic Exam scores of GEL and EPAL to be announced on Thursday 25-6-2026.

The marking process includes first and second corrections as well as any necessary re-gradings, followed by electronic data entry and cross-checking in the central system.

How candidates will get their scores

Scores will be posted as candidate code lists in all General and Vocational Lyceums across the country. The official ministry website will also display results; access requires the eight-digit candidate code plus the first letter of the surname, given name, patronymic and metronymic in capital Greek characters.

Candidates who registered for SMS alerts have until Tuesday 23 June to confirm or update their mobile number on the platform smsresults.minedu.gov.gr. Registration demands the same candidate identifiers and a one-time password sent to the declared phone. The ministry underlined that the SMS service is supplementary; all candidates will be able to check their results through the school lists and the website regardless.

Special-subject exams continue this week

The announcement comes while some candidates are still sitting special-subject tests. Music Perception, Theory and Harmony is being examined on 20 June, followed by Music Performance and Interpretation on 22 June, French on 23 June and Italian on 24 June. The music theory paper lasts three and a half hours, with arrival times set at 08:00 for the 08:30 session and 09:30 for the 10:00 session.

What comes after the grades

The publication of marks triggers the next stage of tertiary-education entry. Candidates will fill in their computerised preference form (michanografiko) during the first half of July, selecting the university departments they wish to attend. The Ministry expects the final admission cut-off scores (baseis) to be announced by the end of July.

The choice of topics allowed the adequately prepared candidates to do well, but set clear limits for absolute excellence. A first estimate sees high-demand schools recording a slight drop, while less popular ones will show a rise.

Giannis Vafeiadakis, president of the Greek Federation of Private Tutors, added that overall a small decline in the cut-off thresholds is probable for the most sought-after departments.
