Two men arrested in Girona for sexually assaulting three girls under 16 and paying them for sex
Mossos d'Esquadra detained two men in Girona accused of paying three minors under 16 for sexual relations between September and December 2025.
The arrests
Mossos d'Esquadra launched an investigation after learning of the incidents. On 28 May 2026, officers arrested a 35-year-old man. A second suspect, aged 44, was detained on 10 June and immediately placed at judicial disposal. Both men were sent to prison after appearing before the duty court in Girona.
The allegations
The three victims, all under the age of 16, knew each other, according to reports. Between September and December 2025, the two men contacted the girls and paid them money in exchange for sexual relations. The payment element elevates the charges to include prostitution and sexual exploitation of minors, in addition to sexual aggression.
Legal charges
Spanish prosecutors are pursuing dual counts: sexual aggression against a person under 16 and prostitution and sexual exploitation. Under Spanish law, any sexual act with a minor under 16 is treated as sexual aggression, regardless of apparent consent. The payment for sex adds the exploitation charge, which carries heightened penalties.
Investigation concluded
The Mossos d'Esquadra consider the case closed and do not expect further arrests, according to sources cited by the Diari de Girona. No further details about the victims' identities or the circumstances of the contacts have been disclosed to protect their privacy.
