
Tram rear-ends bus on Wrocław's TAT route, four injured; tram lines 13 and 23 shortened
On Tuesday, June 30, a tram on Wrocław's line 13 rear-ended a bus on line 142 near the Strzegomska 148 stop, lightly injuring four people and prompting the shortening of tram lines 13 and 23.
The collision
Around 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, a tram on line 13 collided with the rear of a bus on line 142 on the Trasa Autobusowo-Tramwajowa (TAT) at Strzegomska 148 in Wrocław, heading towards Nowy Dwór. The impact occurred on the dedicated bus-and-tram corridor. MPK Wrocław spokesperson Marta Ester confirmed the rear-end nature of the crash.
At 8:05 a.m. on Strzegomska 148, in the direction of Nowy Dwór, the tram on line 13 rear-ended the bus on line 142.
Emergency services arrived promptly, with four fire brigade units, MPK personnel, police, and ambulance teams on site. The collision caused immediate disruption to public transport along the TAT route.
Casualties and response
Four people sustained light injuries in the incident. MPK spokesperson Daniel Misiek specified that three of the injured were passengers from the bus and one from the tram. All were able to leave the vehicles on their own and received medical attention at the scene. None required hospitalization, and the Wrocław City Hall press office stated that their conditions were not serious.

The injured included only passengers; no drivers were reported hurt.
Traffic disruptions
As a result of the collision, MPK Wrocław shortened the routes of tram lines 13 and 23, terminating them at the Wrocławski Park Przemysłowy loop. Buses on the affected route were detoured around the accident site via adjacent streets. The disruption was expected to continue until approximately 10 a.m., though MPK warned it could last several hours. Tram services on the TAT route towards Factoria Park were entirely suspended, causing delays for morning travelers.
Tram lines 13 and 23 are being shortened to the Wrocławski Park Przemysłowy loop. Traffic disruptions may last several hours.
Drivers were also advised to expect difficulties in the area.
Investigation
Police officers and specialists from the MPK accident commission are investigating the cause of the crash. The Municipal Police press officer, Anna Nicer, confirmed that officers were on site conducting procedures to determine the circumstances and cause of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and no preliminary cause has been released publicly.
