PiS candidate Czarnek calls Tusk 'impudent type' at Warsaw convention, signs conservative values declaration
At a PiS convention in Warsaw, candidate for prime minister Przemysław Czarnek called Donald Tusk an 'impudent type' and Rafał Trzaskowski a 'political ladies' boxer', while signing a declaration of conservative values.
Convention opens with conservative values
Przemysław Czarnek, the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, opened the party's 14th program convention in Warsaw on Saturday by addressing "all normal Poles". He said conservatives are "normal people" and that the gathering was devoted to family, education and demography. Around 160 conservative NGOs attended, according to Czarnek.
I warmly welcome all normal Poles to our beautiful conservative convention.
Two documents were signed during the event: a "Declaration of Values of Every Normal Society" and a "Pact for the Republic" containing ten program points.
Attack on Tusk over past remarks
Czarnek quoted Prime Minister Donald Tusk's earlier statements on childbirth, calling him an "impudent type". He cited Tusk as saying that for a woman, giving birth is "a torment for the next 20 years" and that women must "think several times whether to bear offspring in such cultural and political conditions, with a lack of hospitals". The outlet FAKT24.pl noted that Tusk's remarks were made in 2021, during the previous PiS government.
Donald Tusk said that for a woman, giving birth is a torment for the next 20 years. Impudent type.
Trzaskowski labelled 'political ladies' boxer'
Czarnek also sharply criticized Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, linking him to a hospital scandal at the Warszawski Szpital Południowy. He mentioned a young man who earned 1.6 million złoty from public funds while patients died, and accused Trzaskowski of behaving like a "political ladies' boxer" who "sacrificed two women" – a reference to the resignations of two deputy mayors of Warsaw.
Trzaskowski behaved like a political ladies' boxer. He sacrificed two women.
Demographic crisis highlighted
Czarnek said Poland is facing a demographic collapse, noting that last year saw the fewest births since the end of World War II. He blamed the current government for policies he described as anti-family and anti-demographic, and criticized recent education changes as "anti-human" and "anti-social".
