Cruïlla returns to Barcelona with Halsey, David Byrne and Pixies topping a 60-act bill
The 16th edition of Barcelona's Cruïlla festival opens Wednesday at Parc del Fòrum, mixing international headliners like Halsey, David Byrne and Pixies with a strong Catalan lineup across seven stages.
Lineup and headliners
The festival runs from Wednesday 8 July to Saturday 11 July, with around 60 artists spread over seven stages. Wednesday's opening day is capped at 10,000 attendees and leans toward a younger crowd, headlined by Halsey alongside Renée Rapp, Sen Senra and Catalan singer Greta. Thursday brings a wave of 80s and 90s acts: Pixies (marking 40 years), Garbage on their final tour, and Suede, plus Sidonie, Mishima and Mazoni. Friday is anchored by former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, who performs with the Ghost Train Orchestra in a stripped-back, choreographed show, joined by The Black Crowes, Zahara and Ezra Collective. Saturday closes with The Hives, Rigoberta Bandini, Jovanotti (a booking the festival pursued for over a decade), Faithless, Two Door Cinema Club and Jon Batiste.

A festival beyond music
Cruïlla continues to blend genres and disciplines. A comedy tent curated by Oriol de Balanzó features around 30 comedians, including Ana Morgade, Ignatius Farray and Joel Díaz. The Cruïlla Arts section, led by Claudia Costa, showcases a dozen emerging visual artists, while installations across the site reflect on urban space and community life.
It is an antidote to FOMO and anxiety, emotionally sustainable.
Festival director Jordi Herreruela described the 2026 edition as the "most complete" lineup in the event's history. The slogan this year is 'Cruïlla és casa' (Cruïlla is home), framing the festival as a familiar, comfortable space.
