Jesús Cintora to replace Javier Ruiz in Mañaneros 360 from 24 August as RTVE reshuffles daytime line-up
Jesús Cintora will replace Javier Ruiz as presenter of Mañaneros 360 from 24 August, part of a wider reshuffle of RTVE's current-affairs programmes triggered by Ruiz's departure to La Séptima.
Ruiz exits, Cintora steps in
Javier Ruiz presented his final edition of Mañaneros 360 on 7 August, confirming his departure from RTVE to become editorial director of La Séptima, a new TDT channel. RTVE moved within the same broadcast day to name Jesús Cintora as his replacement, pairing him with Adela González and Miriam Moreno from 24 August. Until then, Aida Bao will hold the presenter's chair. Ruiz had been one of the principal architects of the programme's transformation in April 2025, when the old Mañaneros became Mañaneros 360 with a heavier focus on politics, economy and current affairs.
A domino effect across RTVE's daytime line-up
Cintora's promotion from the afternoon slot set off a chain reaction. Gonzalo Miró, who had been filling in on Malas lenguas since 3 August during Cintora's holidays, becomes the permanent weekday presenter from 31 August. He will be joined by Esther Palomera on the La 2 segment (17:45 to 19:30) and Ana Hinestrosa on the La 1 segment. Miró's old seat on Directo al grano goes to Martín Barreiro, who will co-present with Marta Flich. Miró described the reshuffle on air as a chain of falling dominoes: "Se ha ido Javi, Cintora ha pasado a la mañana, yo me voy de aquí a Malas Lenguas, Martín cae aquí... Un plan sin fisuras."

Cintora keeps the Saturday edition
Although Cintora leaves the weekday Malas lenguas, he will continue presenting Malas lenguas noche, the Saturday edition on La 2. That edition, launched roughly three months ago, closed June with a 5% average share and hit a record 7.9% on its 1 August broadcast. The weekday edition he leaves behind posted strong numbers of its own: 11.2% share on La 1, the channel's best in that slot since the 2010-2011 season, and 6.7% on La 2, the best since 1998-1999.

Ruiz's farewell message
Ruiz used his final broadcast to deliver an editorial-style address to viewers, warning of a "plague of falsification of journalism" and of efforts to equate journalism with sectarianism.

He urged audiences to use their influence deliberately: "Castigad la basura y premiad al periodismo." He framed the media landscape as a battle for attention rather than territory, calling it "una batalla por la soberanía de su atención".
Cintora's declaration of intent
Cintora, appearing by video link from Galicia on Directo al grano, called the move "un reto enorme" and signalled he would bring his confrontational style to the morning slot.
Si hay que molestar, se molestará.
He said the new season would be intense and pledged to approach the morning audience "con el mayor rigor que se pueda para contar lo que ocurre". Silvia Intxaurrondo, meanwhile, remains in La Hora de La 1 from 10 August, ending speculation she too might leave for La Séptima, though she still has a pending court battle with RTVE over a 100,000 euro salary reduction.
