Playboi Carti performs at 4 a.m. after weather delay, 134,000 at Beach, Please! festival as private jet tracked globally
The American rapper flew from Paris after a weather delay, with his private jet becoming the most tracked flight worldwide on FlightRadar24 before his first-ever Romanian concert.
A crowd of over 90,000 to 150,000, depending on the source, waited through the night at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinești for Playboi Carti's first concert in Romania. The rapper's set was pushed from Thursday to the early hours of Saturday after weather disrupted his travel from France.
The delay and the flight
Organizers had announced on Thursday that the performance could not go ahead as planned. A festival statement explained that weather conditions had affected the artist's travel. Fans tracked Carti's private jet in real time on FlightRadar24 as it flew from Paris to Constanța. During the flight, the aircraft became the most tracked in the world, the number one worldwide spot, a rare occurrence for a private flight to a festival.
Due to weather conditions that affected the artist's travel, Playboi Carti's concert could not take place as originally scheduled and will be rescheduled. The organizers are working with the artist's team to set a new date.
The performance
The rapper took the stage at the NIBIRU venue around 4:00 a.m. The show, which followed a set by Yeat, featured dancers, special effects, flames, and lighting production at the standard of Carti's major international tours. G4Media described it as one of the most impressive shows ever presented at Beach, Please! At the end of the concert, Carti walked through the crowd from one side of the stage to the other to greet fans, a moment met with enthusiasm from tens of thousands of attendees just as the sun rose.
Attendance and scale
The third day of the festival drew attendance figures cited between 90,000 and 150,000. G4Media reported that the anniversary edition reached a new record with 134,000 participants on the second day, calling it the biggest day so far for the event. The festival, founded by Romanian artist Selly and held at the NIBIRU resort in Costinești, runs until Monday morning.
Line-up and remaining days
The Saturday schedule brings Future and Quavo, two of the most prominent figures in international hip-hop, to the main stage. Romanian acts B.U.G. Mafia, INNA, Deliric, Che, and Nine Vicious are also on the bill for 11 July. On 12 July, Don Toliver, Tyla, Homixide Gang, SoFaygo, and others are set to close the festival.
A contrasting spotlight
Ziare.com published an analysis of the lyrics of Carti's most-streamed solo track, "Magnolia", which has surpassed one billion plays on Spotify. The article noted that the song's euphoric production by Pi'erre Bourne contrasts with content referencing drug sales, codeine use, guns, and derogatory descriptions of women. The piece argued that the track's popularity at concerts stems from rhythm and repetition rather than lyrical content, with many listeners reacting to the energy without parsing every word.
