Benfica defeat FC Porto 5-1 to win fourth Portuguese Women's Super Cup
Benfica secured their fourth Portuguese Women's Super Cup title with a 5-1 victory over FC Porto in front of 4,825 fans at Estádio do Fontelo.

Benfica defeated FC Porto 5-1 at the Estádio do Fontelo on 6 September 2026 to claim the Portuguese Women's Super Cup (Supertaça de Futebol Feminino). The match, played before an attendance of approximately 4,825 spectators, brought together both club presidents, Rui Costa of Benfica and André Villas-Boas of FC Porto, alongside Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença. The early minutes produced balanced play with quick attacking transitions from both squads.
FC Porto appeared to take the lead in the 12th minute when Morgan Stone put the ball into the net. A review by the video assistant referee determined that Stone was in an offside position, invalidating the effort. Benfica responded on the following attack in the 13th minute. Lúcia Alves delivered a pass into the penalty area to set up Norwegian forward Frøya Brennskag-Dorsin, who converted to open the scoring.
First-half lead restored
FC Porto worked their way back into contention and secured an equalizer past the half-hour mark. In the 33rd minute, Caroline Møller was penalised for a handball inside the penalty area. Midfielder Fátima Pinto stepped up to the spot and converted the penalty, beating Benfica goalkeeper Lena Pauels to record FC Porto's first goal against Benfica in women's football.
Following a hydration break in the 34th minute, Benfica reasserted control before the break. In the 42nd minute, Diana Gomes assisted Nycole Raysla, who took advantage of defensive hesitation and goalkeeper Cora Brendle's delay to score and make it 2-1. Porto threatened during stoppage time with a header from Mariana Azevedo saved by Pauels, while Raysla missed an additional attempt shortly before the interval.
Second-half dominance at Fontelo
Benfica took complete control of the match in the second half by generating three unanswered goals. In the 57th minute, Catarina Amado drew a foul inside the box, earning a penalty for Benfica that defender Marit Lund dispatched into the back of the net.

Nine minutes later, in the 66th minute, Caroline Møller scored with a clean strike to widen the margin to 4-1. Benfica finalized the five-goal performance in the 81st minute during a counter-attack. Substitute Chandra Davidson drove forward against an advancing Porto defense and squared a cutback pass to Anna Csiki, who finished past Brendle.
Milestones and growing rivalry
The victory earned Benfica their fourth Supertaça title, breaking a tie with Sporting CP to take sole possession of the competition record. The triumph also equalled 1º de Dezembro's record total of 19 national trophies in women's football. The title returned to Benfica after a two-year gap, having last won it in 2023.
The fixture was the second competitive meeting between the two women's teams following the previous season's Taça de Portugal final, which Benfica won 2-0 at Estádio do Jamor when FC Porto competed in the second division. With FC Porto promoted to the top division for the 2026–2027 campaign, the teams will play at least two additional league fixtures during the domestic season.
