First-half dominance and Kane scoring milestone
Bayern Munich secured a 7-0 victory against 1. FC Union Berlin at the sold-out Allianz Arena in front of 75,000 spectators on matchday four of the Bundesliga season. Vincent Kompany made six alterations to the starting line-up compared to the previous 2-1 win in Elversberg, missing only Konrad Laimer due to a left adductor injury. Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 18th minute, receiving a pass from Alphonso Davies and striking into the right corner from 17 meters out. Jonathan Tah came close to doubling the lead in the 22nd minute with a diving header that was parried by Union goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow, while a 30th-minute finish by Luis Díaz was disallowed for offside. In the 39th minute, referee Benjamin Brand awarded a penalty after Tom Rothe fouled Michael Olise inside the penalty area. Harry Kane converted the spot kick into the left corner to score his 100th Bundesliga goal in his 98th appearance, surpassing the mark set by Dieter Müller, who required 129 games to reach the century.

Bayern responded four minutes later when Kane headed in a cross from Olise to make it 4-0 in the 54th minute, marking his 101st league goal. Substitute Ismael Saibari scored his first goal for Bayern in the 70th minute to extend the lead to five. Standings and Oktoberfest schedule
The result lifted Bayern Munich to first place in the Bundesliga table, moving one point clear of SC Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund before their Saturday fixtures. Union Berlin continued their difficult opening run, registering their worst start to a top-flight campaign since their initial promotion in 2019. Lustrinelli had changed his starting eleven in three positions following a 1-3 loss to Schalke, giving captain Christopher Trimmel his first start of the season at right-back alongside Haberer and András Schäfer. Josip Juranovic was left out of the squad, while Livan Burcu and Aljoscha Kemlein were named on the substitutes' bench. Bayern players wore special Oktoberfest jerseys for the fixture and are scheduled to attend the Munich folk festival on Sunday ahead of the international break.
