Second witness says accused visited Fabian's body the night before reporting it; recorded call reveals alibi deal
A neighbor told the Rostock court that Gina H. led him to the pond where 8-year-old Fabian's body lay late on 13 October 2025, a day before she called police. A taped phone conversation played in the courtroom showed her arranging alibis with the same witness.
Second witness recounts night visit
Olaf K. testified that Gina H. called him on the evening of 13 October 2025 and asked him to drive her to a pond near Klein Upahl. The pair arrived close to midnight, he said, and saw the boy's body.
The accused showed no emotion and later laughed on the drive back, telling him she could no longer cry and the feeling often flipped into laughter. She remarked that the body had been burned or set on fire. When she proposed alerting the police, the witness replied,That is 100 percent Fabian.
They spent about a minute at the site and only discussed the matter the next morning. What do you want to tell the police? Nobody will believe us.
A prior visit the same evening
The day before, another witness had already told the court he was at the pond with Gina H. earlier that same night. The 37-year-old felt she had deliberately led him there.
He stressed he was not commenting on her guilt or innocence, but the account reinforced the timeline of multiple unreported visits before the official discovery. She used him to leave his traces at the pond.
Alibi coordination on tape
The trial also heard a recorded phone call from 21 October 2025 in which Gina H. and the second witness discussed aligning their stories for 10 October, the day Fabian died. In the recording, the accused expressed fear of being arrested if the witness told police anything that did not match. The call was played in a packed courtroom as prosecutors work to show the accused attempted to cover her actions.
Mother leaves courtroom
Fabian's mother Dorina L. left the courtroom while the body discovery was being described, accompanied by psychological support staff, according to Bild. The scene underscored the emotional weight of the testimony for the victim's family.
Charges and trial status
Gina H. faces a charge of treacherous murder. Prosecutors allege she lured Fabian from his home in Güstrow, stabbed him six times and set his body alight. They suspect she believed the boy stood in the way of rekindling her relationship with his father, from whom she had separated in August 2025. She has been in custody since 7 November 2025 and has not spoken during the trial, which began in April and is expected to last into September. The presumption of innocence applies.
