Man arrested at Menorca airport after allegedly assaulting partner and trying to flee Spain with their child

A man was arrested at Menorca airport on 14 June 2026 after allegedly assaulting his partner and attempting to leave Spain with their young daughter without the mother's consent. The incident began the previous night in a vacation apartment in Ciutadella.

The assault

The mother reported to the National Police in Ciutadella that a family argument erupted in the apartment.
