Mossos release AI-generated portrait to identify woman found dead in Lleida river
The Catalan police have published an AI-reconstructed image of a woman discovered in the Segre River in June, after failing to identify her through missing persons lists.
The body was found floating near the Pont Nou in Lleida on 3 June 2026. The woman was wearing a long pink shirt, blue leggings below the knee, and black trainers, and carried no identification. Investigators determined she died the same day, but the cause of death remains unknown. After checking missing persons databases without success, the Mossos d'Esquadra released a facial recreation generated by artificial intelligence, along with images of her clothing, in the hope that a member of the public might recognise her. Separately, another body was recovered that morning from the Utxesa reservoir in Aitona; police say the two deaths are not linked.
