7. On 29 September, local media say, she was taken to hospital with severe pneumonia.
8. Three days later, she was dead.
9. The head of the neighbouring region said she had died of plague.
10. That was later changed to "possibly".
11. A local outlet reported, unconfirmed, that she broke a test tube of plague at work.
12. Russia's health watchdog says its checks found no accident.
13. Her mother rejects the story too.
14. Russia told the World Health Organization it isolated about 200 people near her.
15. Plague in the lungs is the one form that passes between people.
16. Europe's disease agency: usually 1 to 3 days from infection to illness.
17. Russia's own rules say: watch exposed people for 6 days, sometimes longer.
18. Russia hasn't said when each person last had contact with her.
19. It has published this.
20. 5 October: monitoring done for 60%.
21. 6 October, to the WHO: all of them.
22. 7 October, in public: over 90%.
23. 8 October: finished, says the governor.
24. Russia says nobody else caught plague.
25. Without the dates, no one outside can check it.
26. Then there's what killed her.
27. Russia has said: pneumonia of unknown cause.
28. No germs linked to her work.
29. The regional governor calls it community-acquired pneumonia:
30. it didn't develop in hospital.
31. That doesn't name a germ, or say where she was exposed.
32. International rules give a country 24 hours to answer a WHO request.
33. The WHO says it asked on 3 October and got Russia's response on 6 October.
34. A WHO official said: "obviously it's not okay".
35. Whether Russia acknowledged it sooner isn't public.
36. The next day, the WHO's chief said: we don't yet have the full picture.
37. Russia says it has since sent full information.
38. Neither side has publicly named a germ.
39. What caused Darya Shipilova's pneumonia is still, officially, unknown.
