Zelensky says Russia supplied Iran with satellite images of US bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia has been supplying Iran with satellite surveillance imagery of US military installations in the Gulf, correlating with Iranian attacks, and will share evidence with allies.
The Ukrainian president said his country has recorded “active satellite surveillance by Russia over the Gulf states and American military facilities” there since early July. Those images later appear in Iran, and there is “a clear correlation” between the Russian satellite collection and Iranian attacks, both in the preparation phase and for damage assessment afterwards. Zelensky has instructed Ukrainian intelligence to share the gathered data with international partners, calling it “new assistance rendered by Russia to the Iranian regime.” Between 19 and 20 July, four airbases used by the United States and its allies fell within the area of interest of Russian satellites: two in Bahrain, one in Jordan, and one in Kuwait. “The goal is clear. None of us, in the entire world, should close our eyes to a very simple fact: evil always seeks ways to worsen the situation and spread even further. Russia must be stopped. This war must be stopped. Pressure on the aggressor must produce results,” Zelensky said.
