A one-and-a-half-year-old boy of Moldovan origin died on Wednesday evening after being struck by a car his grandmother was reversing in the parking area of a condominium where the family lives, in Zero Branco, Treviso province. The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. The ambulance service (118) arrived on the scene, and paramedics intubated the child before rushing him to Treviso hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Circumstances
The tragedy unfolded before the parents' eyes. According to reports, the child slipped from his mother's arms and moved behind the vehicle just as the grandmother was backing out. The father attempted to intervene but could not reach him in time. The child suffered severe head injuries.
