Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will perform at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden
The couple’s celebration, expected to draw about 1,000 guests to Madison Square Garden, gets two A-list musical performances and a weekend of festivities.
Performers locked in
Multiple outlets report that Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks and country star Tim McGraw will take the stage at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding on July 3. Nicks’s involvement was first reported by Page Six, and a source later confirmed to Rolling Stone that the rock legend is expected to perform. McGraw’s appearance ties back to Swift’s first-ever Billboard hit, which was named after him and released 20 years ago this month.
The venue and weekend schedule
Madison Square Garden will host the main celebration on Friday, July 3, according to a New York Times report that cited a city permit application to close streets around the arena. The paper detailed that an event planning company, Winick Productions, filed for permission to erect a tent or canopy outside the venue for an event of 500 to 999 attendees. Preceding the big day, an intimate gathering of about 100 people is planned for Thursday, July 2, likely a rehearsal dinner. Invitations for the main event were sent by phone or text message, sources said.

City and law enforcement on alert
Mayor Zohran Mamdani acknowledged the wedding during a press conference, tying it to the July 4 holiday and the America 250 celebration. "We are the biggest city in the country," he said. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one." Amtrak police officers who patrol Penn Station beneath the arena have been told to expect a Swift wedding that weekend, the Times added. The Kansas City Chiefs connection is also visible: several team members have booked rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for the dates around July 3.
We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding.
A long friendship
Nicks and Swift have publicly praised each other for over a decade. In 2024, Nicks wrote a poem for the CD version of Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department, and Swift name-dropped her on the track "Clara Bow." That year, Nicks told Rolling Stone she hoped Swift and Kelce would "get married and have babies if she wants that." Swift, meanwhile, called Nicks a constant positive influence during a 2025 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
She's in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man. I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset.
Easter eggs and pre-wedding hints
Swift may have teased the involvement of her musical guest when she wore a "Stevie Knicks" shirt while courtside at a New York Knicks NBA Finals game on June 10. The shirt, which blended Nicks’s name with that of the basketball team, was widely interpreted as a sign of the Fleetwood Mac star’s role in the upcoming wedding. The nod came weeks before the couple’s plans were publicly confirmed.
