Romania to release 2026 autumn Baccalaureate results for over 33,000 candidates
The Ministry of Education will publish initial anonymized scores on 18 August 2026 for more than 33,000 registered students ahead of an appeals window running through 20 August.
Results publication and platform schedule
The Ministry of Education will publish initial results for the autumn session of the 2026 Baccalaureate examination on Tuesday, 18 August 2026. Under the official calendar, grades will appear across Romania by 12:00 on the bacalaureat.edu.ro platform and on notice boards at designated examination centres. Minister of Education Mihai Dimian announced that lists will be posted earlier in the morning, targeting release by 09:00. The publication covers performance across written subjects including Romanian language and literature, mathematics or history, and a profile elective. To comply with data protection regulations, candidate identities remain anonymized. Each participant accesses their marks using an individual alphanumeric code in the format JJ0000, where the initial letters represent the county identifier, issued under signature during the first written test.
- Publication of initial anonymous exam results online and at test centres
- Submission of grade appeals and requests to view written scripts
- Re-evaluation and resolution of contested examination papers
- Publication of final definitive Baccalaureate examination marks
Candidate registration and qualification rules
More than 33,000 candidates registered for the autumn 2026 session, an increase of nearly 10% compared to the 30,200 applicants in 2025. Over 22,000 registrants come from the graduating class of 2026, while more than 11,000 applicants graduated in prior years. Candidate numbers in earlier autumn sessions reached 33,974 in 2024, 34,823 in 2022, and 33,724 in 2004. Depending on previous recognized credits, applicants sat either the complete test series or only subjects they had previously failed. To pass the examination, candidates must fulfill four statutory conditions simultaneously. They must complete or equate assessments in language and digital competences, take every required written test, achieve at least a mark of 5.00 on each written exam, and secure an overall written grade point average of at least 6.00.

Appeal submission and script inspection
Candidates dissatisfied with their initial scores may submit appeals between 18 August and 20 August 2026. General guidelines establish the initial window for filing appeals on 18 August from 14:00 to 18:00, while the Bucharest School Inspectorate scheduled local filing on 18 August from 17:00 to 18:00, followed by 09:00 to 17:00 on 19 and 20 August. Filings may be submitted in person at examination centres or sent electronically alongside an identity card copy. Every applicant, or a parent or legal guardian for minor students, must sign a declaration acknowledging that post-review marks may rise or fall. Candidates can also view their written scripts on 18 August. Script viewing serves a purely informative purpose and does not directly alter grades or oblige a student to lodge an appeal.
Re-evaluation and final announcement
Educational evaluation commissions will resolve all submitted appeals between 20 August and 21 August 2026. The Ministry of Education will publish final, definitive examination outcomes on Monday, 24 August 2026. Official regulations define the exact contents of score sheets generated before appeals begin.
To communicate the grades obtained in the national baccalaureate examination, before the stage of submitting and resolving appeals, commissions in educational units and examination centres print the list of baccalaureate examination results which includes: candidate code, originating educational unit, county, graduating class, form of education completed, specialization, grades obtained in each written test, average, or the mentions passed, failed, absent, or eliminated from examination, as applicable.
Following the publication of the final lists on 24 August, the second examination session of 2026 officially concludes.
