Romania's Beach, Please! festival draws record 155,000 on Saturday, pauses to honour viral grandmother
The fourth day of the anniversary edition drew the largest single-day crowd in the festival's history, with Future, Quavo, and INNA headlining before a heartfelt on-stage memorial for Afuzii Chiamiran.
Crowd records
Saturday's turnout at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinești reached 155,000, according to organisers, setting a new single-day attendance mark for the event. The figure followed roughly 134,000 on day two and nearly 150,000 on day three. Selly (Andrei Șelaru), the festival's organiser, told a press conference that the edition had seen record numbers with no security incidents.
We are living a wonderful moment for our country and for the Romanian seaside. We have had a record number of participants so far, with no security incidents.
The line-up
Future and Quavo performed live in Romania for the first time, anchoring the main stage alongside Romanian acts INNA, who delivered what organisers described as one of the most spectacular local shows of the edition, and B.U.G. Mafia. Sunday's closing day was set to feature Don Toliver, Tyla, Homixide Gang, SoFaygo, and a roster of Romanian artists.
The grandmother tribute
A pause in the programme saw Selly step on stage with Yusuf, a 15-year-old whose grandmother Afuzii Chiamiran became a viral figure at the 2025 edition. She had accompanied him as his chaperone; photographs of them at a bus stop and inside the festival spread widely, and organisers had given them backstage access to meet artists. She died months later.
On Saturday night, before the crowd of roughly 150,000, Yusuf remembered her.
I grew up with my grandmother and she taught me many things. To make my bed, to fold my clothes, but above all to be a good person and to respect those around me. Losing her is the greatest pain I have gone through, but the fact that so many people remembered her and sent a thought means the world to me.
He then played her favourite song, "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee, to applause from the audience.
The next chapter: NIBIRU
Selly used the press briefing to announce NIBIRU, a new entertainment destination set to open on 16 July and run for 46 days through the end of the season. He framed the combined projects as an economic lever for the coast.
We estimate that NIBIRU and Beach, Please! will bring around 400 million euros to the local economy. This means a new chance for the Romanian seaside.
The festival closes on Sunday with the final day of international and domestic acts.
