Kaczyński and Czarnek vow to oust 'thieves' from power at PiS rally in Kłodzko
Jarosław Kaczyński and Przemysław Czarnek used a party convention in Kłodzko to accuse the government of corruption and incompetence, promising to 'settle accounts' with officials if PiS returns to power.
Rally in Kłodzko
On Sunday, Law and Justice (PiS) held a convention in Kłodzko, southwestern Poland, with party chairman Jarosław Kaczyński and deputy chairman Przemysław Czarnek, the party's candidate for prime minister. The event, promoted under the hashtag #PrzebudzeniePL, drew supporters and was broadcast widely. Kaczyński opened by framing the next election as a choice between a good government and the current one, which he said is run by "terribly bad people."
Accusations of corruption and scandal
Both leaders pointed to specific cases to argue that the Civic Coalition government is unfit. They highlighted the conviction of Kamila L., a former local activist of the Civic Platform, for failing to help a minor victim of sexual abuse by her husband and for animal cruelty. Her husband was sentenced to 25 years, she to 6.5 years. They also referenced the Szpital Południowy scandal in Warsaw and a controversial remark by education minister Barbara Nowacka, who in January 2025 said "Polish Nazis" built camps during the war, later apologizing for a slip of the tongue.
These elections are about whether we will have a good government in our homeland. Recent events have shown that there are terribly bad people in the ranks of the current ruling coalition.
Czarnek's promises and threats
Czarnek, speaking after Kaczyński, said PiS would return to power not for revenge but to "put the state on its feet." He promised large investments, new jobs, energy security, and lower heating and electricity prices. However, he also vowed to "settle accounts" with prosecutors, tax officials, and others he accused of breaking the law. He called the government "thieves" and demanded its resignation.
We will settle accounts with bandits, thieves, and disgusting criminals. We will remove you from there.
Czarnek also revisited the 2024 flood that hit Kłodzko, accusing Prime Minister Donald Tusk of making empty promises and leaving families without help. He called it a "double harm", first nature, then government neglect.
To this day, there are families who have not received help from the government. This is a scandal!
Kaczyński calls for right-wing unity
Kaczyński stressed that victory in next year's elections requires unity among right-wing groups. In a lighter moment, he complimented Czarnek's name, saying "Przemek" is a beautiful name, a remark that drew attention on social media.
Government reaction
Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński responded on social media to the speeches, though the exact content of his reply was not immediately detailed in reports.
