Erik Palmer-Brown rejects €1 million Turkish transfer offer, stays with Panathinaikos
The American defender turned down a €1 million offer from an unnamed Turkish club, despite a significant salary increase, and will remain with the Greek side until at least summer 2027.
The offer
Panathinaikos technical director Stefanos Kotsolis presented a €1 million transfer offer from an unnamed Turkish club for American defender Erik Palmer-Brown. The Greek club was open to the move, as Palmer-Brown is not in the plans of head coach Jacob Neestrup. The offer included a significant salary increase from his current €750,000 annual wages at Panathinaikos.
Player's decision
Palmer-Brown rejected the proposal immediately, without entering negotiations. He made clear he does not wish to move to Turkey and prefers to continue with Panathinaikos. The 27-year-old centre-back has been with the club since 2023 and remains committed to his contract.
Contract and future
Palmer-Brown's contract runs until the summer of 2027. For now, he stays in the squad and is available to the coaching staff. The situation could change if another offer arrives from a different foreign club, but the player's current stance is to remain in Athens.
