OFI Crete beats Kifisia 2-0 with first-half goals from Androutsos and Bouchalakis
Goals from Thanasis Androutsos and Andreas Bouchalakis led OFI to a 2-0 victory over Kifisia at Pagkritio Stadium on Matchday 3 of the Greek Super League.
Fast start and early attacking exchanges
Both sides began the contest at Pagkritio Stadium with high attacking intent during the opening minutes of Matchday 3 in the Stoiximan Super League. Kifisia created the first clear openings of the match, starting in the fifth minute when Angelo Sagal sent an effort wide of the target. One minute later, Spanish midfielder Jorge Pombo dribbled past multiple defenders before directing a low strike that goalkeeper Nikolaos Christogeorgos managed to block. OFI responded with a strike from Taxiarchis Fountas from a wide angle that missed the target, followed by an off-target attempt from Kenan Kodro after an error by Kifisia goalkeeper Ramirez. Kifisia came closest to opening the scoring in the 16th minute when Pombo struck the base of the right post with a powerful long-range effort.
Clinical finishing gives OFI a two-goal cushion
Despite the early pressure from the visitors, OFI took the lead against the run of play in the 24th minute through team captain Thanasis Androutsos. The attacking sequence developed through Lukas Dieckman, Nikos Athanasiou, and Andreas Bouchalakis, whose delivery into the penalty box led to a failed clearance by Giannis Roukounakis. Androutsos reacted quickly to the loose ball, placing a calm finish past Ramirez to make it 1-0. Kifisia looked to respond immediately, with Christogeorgos stopping an acrobatic overhead effort from Sagal in the 26th minute. In the 32nd minute, OFI doubled their lead after Ramirez committed a foul on Thiago Nuss outside the penalty box. Bouchalakis curled a direct free kick into the top corner off the inside of the left post to claim his first goal for the club.
