The United States is currently conducting a six-month review of its military footprint across Europe. On 17 September 2026, Donald Trump publicly stated that progress was underway toward establishing a US Army base in Poland. Marcin Przydacz noted that the core political consensus has been established between the two heads of state.

The decision has already been worked out, so apart from confirming this fact on the part of President Donald Trump, little more can be done at the presidential level. Now it is the task for the Minister of National Defence, deputy ministers, directors, and the Polish Army to forge this declaration and political readiness into concrete decisions.

Investment cooperation and domestic coordination

Beyond defense posture, the two leaders addressed economic cooperation, focusing on American corporate investments in Warsaw. These discussions included potential projects to service American military equipment on Polish soil. Marcin Przydacz indicated that the Polish government had formally requested that Karol Nawrocki advocate for these commercial projects directly at the White House. Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Maciej Wewiór clarified that the Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN acted strictly as an intermediary to secure the lease after receiving funds and instructions directly from the presidential chancellery.

Karol Nawrocki scheduled his address to the UN General Assembly general debate for 23 September 2026, focusing on European security, demographic challenges, and expanding Poland's engagement within the G20 framework. US First Lady Melania Trump announced that Marta Nawrocka will organize a European regional meeting in the coming winter under the Fostering the Future Together initiative.
