AEMET forecasts a mixed Tuesday across Spain: clouds, scattered showers, and highs reaching 37°C

Coastal Catalonia and Alicante

A band of cloud and light rain will affect the Mediterranean coast during the morning. In Barcelona, overcast skies with light rain are expected from dawn until midday, before clearing to a partly cloudy afternoon. AEMET does not rule out storms during the day. The maximum temperature will reach 27 degrees, with a thermal sensation of 28 degrees and light southerly breezes.

Nearby Castelldefels will see partly cloudy skies until 06:00, then a clear spell until 18:00, followed by more clouds. There is a low probability of storms in both periods. The high will be around 26 degrees and the low near 19, with light south-westerly winds. In Sabadell, cloudy skies with light rain will persist all day, with weak rainfall around 12:00 and 13:00; temperatures will range from 17 to 28 degrees.

Further south, Elche in Alicante will start cloudy before clearing to a sunny midday and afternoon, then turning partly cloudy by nightfall. The high will hover around 30 degrees and the low at 20, with a thermal sensation of 31 degrees and light easterly winds. Torrevieja will be cloudy until noon, then clear until the afternoon, ending cloudy; its high will be 26 degrees and the low 21. Alicante city will follow a similar pattern, moving from cloudy to partly cloudy, with temperatures between 20 and 28 degrees.

Interior and northern Spain

Clear skies will dominate the centre of the country. Ávila will be sunny from dawn until the afternoon, then partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop compared to Monday, with a high of 26 degrees and a low of 11, accompanied by light northerly breezes. Ciudad Real will be clear all day, reaching 35 degrees, with a low of 17.

In the north-west, Pontevedra will experience multiple changes: clear skies early, then increasing cloud from 06:00, ending partly cloudy. The high will be 23 degrees and the low 11, with light northerly winds. Vigo will remain partly cloudy all day, with temperatures between 12 and 23 degrees, while Santiago de Compostela will also be partly cloudy, ranging from 10 to 20 degrees.

Midweek outlook

Wednesday will bring cloudy skies with light rain to Barcelona and Castelldefels during the morning, clearing after midday. Elche and Torrevieja will be very cloudy until noon, then partly cloudy. Ávila and Pontevedra will see few clouds, while Ciudad Real will be clear until midday, when cloud will increase. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged from Tuesday across most locations.

Thursday is expected to be dry almost everywhere. Barcelona, Castelldefels, Elche, Torrevieja, Ávila, Ciudad Real, and Pontevedra all have a forecast with no precipitation. Skies will range from clear in Elche and Ciudad Real to partly cloudy in Ávila and Pontevedra. A notable temperature rise is forecast for Pontevedra, where the high will exceed 31 degrees, and for Ávila, where it will surpass 30 degrees.

Weekend preview

Saturday will be mostly clear or partly cloudy across the country. Barcelona and Castelldefels will be clear, with highs above 29 degrees. Elche and Torrevieja will be partly cloudy, with highs above 31 and 26 degrees respectively. Ávila will have cloudy intervals and a high above 31 degrees. Ciudad Real will be clear with a high of 36 degrees. Pontevedra will have cloudy intervals and a high above 34 degrees.

Sunday will see more cloud. Barcelona will be clear, but Castelldefels will be partly cloudy. Elche and Torrevieja will have cloudy intervals. Ávila will have cloudy intervals with light rain. Ciudad Real will have cloudy intervals with light rain. Pontevedra will have cloudy intervals. Maximum temperatures will remain similar to Saturday, though Pontevedra's high will drop to 31 degrees.
