
Milan police officer expelled after being charged with premeditated murder of drug dealer in Rogoredo grove
Carmelo Cinturrino, the assistant police chief who shot dead a Moroccan drug dealer in Milan's Rogoredo area in January, has been formally dismissed from the State Police after being charged with premeditated homicide and evidence tampering.
From the shooting to dismissal
On 26 January 2026, assistant police chief Carmelo Cinturrino shot dead Abderrahim Mansouri, a 28-year-old Moroccan drug dealer, in the “boschetto della droga” of Milan’s Rogoredo district. He was arrested on 23 February on suspicion of voluntary homicide and has been held in Milan’s San Vittore prison ever since. The head of the State Police, Vittorio Pisani, signed a dismissal measure on 20 May, which was served to Cinturrino in prison two days later. The expulsion was only made public on 30 June.

The killing and the cover-up
Prosecutors say that Cinturrino killed Mansouri with a single shot from his service pistol and then orchestrated a false scene to suggest he had acted in self-defence. The officer allegedly tasked a younger colleague with retrieving a bag containing a replica Beretta 92, which was then placed beside the victim’s body. Cinturrino later admitted to moving the fake weapon.
Investigators determined that Mansouri had never handled the replica and was unarmed when he died.I put the gun near Mansouri because I feared the consequences of what had happened.
Broader pattern of abuse and threats
Investigations uncovered a network of illegal activity involving Cinturrino and at least six other officers from the Mecenate station. The former assistant chief now faces more than 30 charges, including extortion, drug dealing, illegal arrests, battery, false statements and robbery. Witnesses reported that Cinturrino had repeatedly threatened Mansouri, at one point telling him,

Legal battles and detention
