The most severe issues hit Messenger, where many users were abruptly logged out and could not sign back in. Login attempts with correct credentials returned an error message. Facebook feeds stopped refreshing, images failed to load, and WhatsApp messages were not sent. According to Downdetector data, login failures accounted for half of the reports, while general app functionality problems made up 39%.
