The draw result
Loteria Română announced that the category I prize in the Loto 6/49 draw held on 22 October 2026 had been won. The prize is 17,760,754.40 lei, which the lottery put at over 3.32 million euros. The winning numbers were 5, 17, 29, 7, 8 and 4. Draws for Noroc, Joker, Noroc Plus, Loto 5/40 and Super Noroc were held the same day, and their numbers were published alongside the main result.

The winning ticket
According to Loteria Română representatives, the winning ticket was completed online from a mobile phone rather than bought at a street agency. It was played through the AmParcat.ro app. The ticket covered three simple variants on Loto 6/49 and cost 24.50 lei in total.
Prize, tax and the claim period
HotNews reported that about 40% of the sum would stay with the state as tax. Under the rules for traditional lottery games, the winner has 90 days from the draw date to claim the prize, which here means from 22 October 2026. Ziare.com reported that the winner would need to appear at the Loteria Română head office in Bucharest, and that payment would follow a technical check of the ticket generated by the mobile app. Ziare.com also reported that if the 90 days pass without a claim, the sum returns to the national company's budget.
Earlier wins this year
This is the third category I prize won on Loto 6/49 in 2026, according to Loteria Română. The previous top prize was won on 13 August 2026 and was worth 52,839,623.04 lei. HotNews reported that the ticket for that win had been placed in Oradea and gave its value as 10 million euros. On Sunday, 18 October, a category I prize was won in the Joker draw, and Loteria Română added 300,000 lei to the category I fund for the Thursday Loto 6/49 draw, ProTV reported.
