
Former German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck to join Danish investment firm Urban Partners as senior advisor
Robert Habeck, Germany's former vice chancellor and economy minister, will start as a senior advisor at Copenhagen-based Urban Partners on 1 August, the firm announced.
The appointment
Robert Habeck, who served as German vice chancellor and economy minister from December 2021 to May 2025, will join Urban Partners as a senior advisor on 1 August. The Danish investment firm, which focuses on urban development and real estate, said Habeck will help drive its research activities, particularly on how private capital can support affordable housing in fast-growing urban areas.
Habeck's path to the private sector
Habeck was the Green party's candidate for chancellor in the February 2025 federal election. After the collapse of the traffic-light coalition and his departure from government in May 2025, he took up teaching assignments at several universities in the United States and Israel. The move to Urban Partners marks his first corporate role since leaving politics.
