Thirty-eight Socialist officials from the Gironde department announced their backing for Socialist Party First Secretary Olivier Faure on 1 October ahead of the 2027 French presidential election.
A group of 38 Socialist elected officials from the Gironde department announced their endorsement of Socialist Party First Secretary Olivier Faure on Thursday, 1 October. The signatories include senators, a deputy, mayors, as well as departmental and regional councillors.
The endorsement comes within the framework of the primary organized jointly by the Socialist Party and Place publique for the 2027 presidential race. The announcement coincided with a primary debate scheduled for broadcast across France 2 and France Inter on 1 October.
