German police stop intoxicated scooter rider carrying combat knives and illegal firearms in Dillingen
Police in Dillingen an der Donau responding to a minor scooter accident discovered the 68-year-old rider was drunk and carrying a cache of illegal weapons, including combat knives and a converted pistol.

Police were called to a traffic accident involving a fallen scooter in Holzheim, a municipality in the Dillingen an der Donau district, on Saturday. During the accident investigation, officers discovered multiple weapons on the 68-year-old rider. A subsequent alcohol test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. The man was so intoxicated, police said, that he could no longer speak clearly.
The weapons find
At the scene, officers recovered several prohibited combat knives, a converted blank-firing pistol, and various ammunition. A search of the man's residence then uncovered several additional firearms. The exact number and type of weapons were not initially disclosed by investigators. All firearms will be examined to determine whether they had been further modified. The 68-year-old had no permit for any of the weapons.
