The incident

A serious traffic accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, 10 June 2026, in the western Athens suburb of Egaleo. Alcohol test results

The device recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 1.24 mg/l, a level nearly five times the legal limit of 0.25 mg/l prescribed by the Greek Highway Code. Arrest and charges

The 48-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He faces charges of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
