
Drunk driver attacks two police officers during traffic stop in Kernen im Remstal
A 38-year-old man with a blood alcohol level of around 0.2 percent became aggressive during a police check in Kernen im Remstal, striking and kicking two officers.
The incident
A 38-year-old man was driving with a flat tire in Kernen im Remstal (Rems-Murr district) on Tuesday when another motorist stopped to help. The helper noticed the man was intoxicated and called the police.
Police intervention
Officers arrived and administered a breath alcohol test, which showed a level of about 0.2 percent. After the test, the 38-year-old began hitting and kicking the two officers, causing minor injuries.
Aftermath
The police handcuffed the man and took him for a blood draw. He temporarily lost his driving license and now faces multiple charges.
