Djokovic breaks Federer's Wimbledon wins record as Osaka stuns Sabalenka
Novak Djokovic reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals with a record 106th match win, surpassing Roger Federer, while Naomi Osaka eliminated world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets on a dramatic seventh day at the All England Club.
Djokovic surpasses Federer
Novak Djokovic moved past Roger Federer for the most men's singles wins at Wimbledon, beating Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin 7-6(6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the fourth round. The victory, his 106th at the All England Club, took 3 hours and 27 minutes and sent the 39-year-old into a quarter-final against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Djokovic, a seven-time champion, remains behind Martina Navratilova's all-time record of 120 wins.
It was another hard-fought victory. Roman started very well. It doesn't happen often that I feel inferior to another player from the baseline.
Osaka shocks Sabalenka
Naomi Osaka produced the day's biggest upset, defeating world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 7-6(2) to reach her first Wimbledon quarter-final. The Japanese former No.1 had lost all three meetings with Sabalenka in 2026, including at Indian Wells, Madrid and Roland Garros, and had not beaten her since the 2018 US Open. Sabalenka's exit is her earliest at a Grand Slam since the 2022 French Open.
It's been a long time since I had so much fun on a court. Before this match I had lost three in a row against Sabalenka, I really wanted to turn things around.
For some reason, I wasn't at the level. There are days like this where you just have to congratulate your opponent and move on.
Pegula and Muchova battle through
Jessica Pegula, the world No.4, fought back from a set down to beat 18-year-old compatriot Iva Jovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in 2 hours and 12 minutes. The win equals Pegula's best Wimbledon result, a quarter-final appearance three years ago. Karolina Muchova, the ninth seed, eliminated 2024 champion Barbora Krejcikova 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 in an all-Czech contest lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes. Krejcikova was the last former women's champion left in the draw, guaranteeing a new name on the trophy. Muchova will face Osaka in the last eight.

Sinner and Struff book quarter-final spots
Defending champion Jannik Sinner, the world No.1, advanced comfortably and will next meet German veteran Jan-Lennard Struff. The 36-year-old Struff, ranked 74th, became the oldest first-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist in the Open Era after winning his fourth-round match.
Auger-Aliassime sets up Djokovic clash
Canadian fourth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime outlasted Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in five sets to earn a quarter-final meeting with Djokovic. The match was a tense arm-wrestle, with Auger-Aliassime eventually prevailing to reach the last eight at Wimbledon for the first time.
