Discovery in garage
Maria Antonogiannaki, a journalist for KRITI TV and the newspaper Nea Kriti, was found dead in her car on Sunday afternoon in the Agios Ioannis area of Heraklion, Crete. She was 46 years old, though one source listed her age as 45. An ambulance and doctor arrived but could not revive her. Police attributed the death to pathological causes.
Security footage
A security camera recorded her final movements. The footage shows Antonogiannaki going up to her apartment, then returning to the garage, entering her vehicle, and losing consciousness. Authorities are reviewing the video as part of the investigation.
Cause of death
Local media, including KRITI TV, reported that she suffered a cardiac arrest. An autopsy will be performed at the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) to confirm the exact cause. Police have stated there is no suspicion of foul play.
Funeral arrangements
The funeral service will be held today, Monday, at 16:00 at the Church of Agios Ioannis on Knossos Avenue. The body will lie in state from 15:30. Burial will follow at the new cemetery of Heraklion.

Antonogiannaki had a long career in Cretan media, working for KRITI TV, the newspaper Nea Kriti, and the website neakriti.gr. Her employer released a statement:
