Miyoshi strikes twice in opening period

Japanese forward Koji Miyoshi scored twice in the opening 25 minutes to give the visiting side an early lead. The closing stages saw Dresden push aggressively for an equaliser in front of 30,583 spectators at the stadium. New signing Kennedy Okpala missed a clear opportunity in the 84th minute, sending a shot wide from a few meters out. Dresden struggled to penetrate Bochum's defensive block during sustained possession, largely due to a lack of width after neglecting their wing play throughout the second half.
