Belen Rodriguez Hospitalized After Distress Call Leads to Three-Hour Standoff in Milan Apartment
Argentine showgirl Belén Rodriguez was taken to hospital on Monday morning after neighbors in Milan's Brera district heard her screaming for help, triggering a three-hour police and firefighter intervention.
Early morning alarm
The incident began shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25, in an elegant five-story condominium in Milan's central Brera district. A neighbor called the emergency number 112 after hearing desperate cries of "Aiuto, aiutatemi" ("Help, help me") coming from the bathroom window of Rodriguez's apartment. Two police patrol cars from the Garibaldi-Venezia station, an ambulance, and a fire brigade team were immediately dispatched to the scene. To facilitate the rescue operation, the entire one-way street was closed to traffic.
The standoff
Rodriguez, 41, was alone at home and initially barricaded herself inside. Negotiations continued for over three hours. According to firefighters who spoke to Fanpage.it, they were forced to follow strict safety protocols: "Not knowing if she was alone, by procedure we necessarily had to force the entrance door to try to provide assistance quickly. If the person inside does not open independently, we are forced to intervene." Only when firefighters began breaking down the door with tools did the showgirl decide to open it herself.
She was in the bathroom, she couldn't open the door because she had locked it and didn't remember why. She was in an evident state of confusion, at a certain point she decided to open. She could only say something in monosyllables.
Hospitalization and condition
Witnesses described Rodriguez as being in an evident state of psycho-physical alteration. She was assisted by medical personnel and transported under a yellow code to the Policlinico hospital for evaluation. Firefighter sources confirmed to Fanpage.it that the hypothesis of an extreme self-harm gesture was excluded. The showgirl was found in a confused state, capable of expressing herself only in monosyllables.
Weekend car incidents
The Monday episode was not the only one involving Rodriguez in recent days. According to La Repubblica, two witnesses reported to local police that they saw her driving an SUV involved in two separate accidents on Saturday afternoon. The first occurred in Via Melzi D'Eril, near the Arco della Pace, where the vehicle damaged the mirror of a parked car. Shortly after, in Via San Marco, the same SUV hit a motorcycle and other parked vehicles. No injuries were reported. The SUV, a Land Rover Defender registered to a company, left without stopping to provide details. Local police are investigating to determine who was actually behind the wheel.
A history of fragility
Rodriguez's personal struggles had already emerged publicly months earlier, in November 2025, when some of her public appearances alarmed fans. She addressed the issue directly on Instagram.
I have never made a secret of having suffered from panic attacks and depression. I've had them, in life, one after another. It's not easy to accept yourself with these fragilities, especially when you do a public job and your fragility can also become a mockery for those who use this material inappropriately.
She also recounted an episode before a Vanity Fair festival interview: "The other evening, before the interview, I was without the children and I took a tranquilizer, then another and then another. Obviously, the result was a significant daze." According to some rumors, this difficult period was also due to professional setbacks, including a rejection from the TV show "Isola dei Famosi."
