
Bavaria faces thunderstorms and sunshine as mixed weather continues into Monday
Showers and thunderstorms are expected across Bavaria on Sunday, with some sunny spells in the south, while Monday brings a gradual easing of storm risk.
Sunday's forecast
The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of showers and thunderstorms across Bavaria on Sunday, particularly in the afternoon. Northern parts of the state will see rain or showers with isolated thunderstorms, while the southern region of Schwaben may enjoy longer sunny periods. Temperatures will reach up to 27 degrees Celsius.
Monday outlook
On Monday, the thunderstorm risk decreases noticeably. Southern Bavaria will see a similar pattern to Sunday, with plenty of sun in Schwaben but otherwise cloudy skies and possible rain. Isolated thunderstorms may still occur in the southeast. In the north, some rain or thunderstorms are expected, with temperatures ranging from 21 degrees in Hochfranken to 30 degrees at the Untermain.
Temperature ranges
Southern Bavaria will see highs between 22 degrees in the Bavarian Forest and 28 degrees at Lake Constance on Sunday, rising to 22 to 29 degrees on Monday. Northern areas will range from 21 degrees in the Frankenwald to 27 degrees in western Lower Franconia on Sunday, and 21 to 30 degrees on Monday.
