Romania sets Monday deadline for final autumn 2026 Baccalaureate results
Final results for Romania's autumn 2026 Baccalaureate will appear on 24 August by 12:00 following appeals, concluding an exam session with over 33,000 registered candidates.
Publication of final autumn grades
The Romanian Ministry of Education will publish the final results of the 2026 Baccalaureate autumn session on Monday, 24 August 2026, by 12:00 local time. Candidates will be able to access their definitive marks after the resolution of appeals on the ministry portal at bacalaureat.edu.ro, on county school inspectorate websites, and on printed lists at examination centres. Results will be communicated in an anonymised format through individual identification codes given to students during their first examination. The publication of revised scores follows the release of initial evaluations on Tuesday, 18 August 2026. Dissatisfied candidates were subsequently allowed to view their marked exam papers and submit formal contestations within the designated calendar windows.

Participation figures and pass rates
More than 33,000 candidates registered for the autumn 2026 Baccalaureate examination across the country. The cohort included more than 22,000 graduates from the high school class of 2026, while the remainder came from previous graduating cohorts. Before the resolution of contestations, the national pass rate for the autumn session stood at 33.8%, representing the highest autumn pass rate recorded in Romania in 15 years. This performance improved on the autumn 2025 examination session, which recorded a pass rate of 31.9%. The Ministry of Education calculates the official pass rate against the total number of present candidates, a figure that includes students who were disqualified or eliminated during testing.

Examination criteria and passing thresholds
Graduating students must satisfy multiple cumulative conditions to receive a passing grade on the national Baccalaureate. Every candidate must complete the evaluation of linguistic and digital competences and sit for all required written examinations. In the written testing phase, candidates must achieve a minimum mark of 5 on each individual subject test. In addition, the overall arithmetic mean across all written examination papers must reach at least 6. Only students who meet all of these criteria simultaneously are declared to have passed the examination.
University admissions and repeat registration
The publication of final grades on 24 August marks the formal conclusion of the second and final Baccalaureate session of 2026. Successful candidates become eligible to register for university admissions at higher education institutions that still have available spots. Prospective students must consult the regulations of specific faculties, as application deadlines, selection criteria, and required registration documents differ between institutions. Candidates who do not pass the autumn examination may register for future exam sessions under calendars approved for subsequent years. Those students can submit a formal request upon re-registration to have previously passed tests recognised, allowing them to retake only the individual tests they failed.
