The German amusement park Europa-Park in Rust has received preliminary approval to begin planning its seventh hotel. During a meeting in the town of Ringsheim, the Zweckverband Tourismus, Dienstleistungen, Freizeit Ringsheim/Rust (ZVT) decided to adopt a development plan for the investment. The new facility is to accommodate up to 350 rooms and will be located north of the Rulantica water park. The park's management has expressed its intention to change the land designation. Final decisions and the start of construction still require further planning stages.
Preliminary Planning Approval
The Zweckverband Tourismus, Dienstleistungen, Freizeit Ringsheim/Rust (ZVT) adopted a development plan, which constitutes the first formal approval to begin design work on the new hotel. The decision was made during a meeting in Ringsheim.
New Hotel with 350 Rooms
The planned investment involves the construction of a hotel with a maximum of 350 rooms, which will become the seventh hotel facility belonging to the Europa-Park complex. The facility is to be located north of the existing Rulantica water park.
Expansion of the So-Called Building Envelope
The designated area is already marked in the plans as an area for hotel and catering development; however, for the project's realization, it is necessary to expand the so-called building envelope (Baufenster).
Long Road to Realization
The ZVT's decision is only the beginning of a long process. For the hotel to welcome its first guests, it is still necessary to complete many formalities and obtain final building permits.
Germany's largest amusement park, Europa-Park in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, has taken the first step towards expanding its accommodation base. The Zweckverband Tourismus, Dienstleistungen, Freizeit Ringsheim/Rust (ZVT) granted preliminary approval for the adoption of a development plan for the construction of a new, seventh hotel in the complex. The decision was made during a meeting of the association's authorities held in the town of Ringsheim.
The new facility is to be built on a plot located north of the Rulantica water park. As Pascal Weber, the mayor of Ringsheim and also deputy chairman of the ZVT, informed, this area is already designated in the current plans for hotel and catering development. However, to build a hotel of the planned size, it is necessary to expand the so-called building envelope. The approved plan allows for the construction of a hotel with a maximum of 350 rooms. Europa-Park, opened in 1975 by the Mack family, is Germany's largest amusement park by area and one of the most popular in Europe, visited annually by over 5 million guests. Since the 1990s, the complex has systematically expanded its accommodation base, transforming from a one-day attraction into a multi-day themed resort with its own hotels. Although the ZVT's decision represents a crucial first formal hurdle that has been overcome, the path to the hotel's construction is still long. As media outlets note, park guests must be patient. Before construction can begin, it is necessary to fulfill all remaining procedural requirements and obtain final permits. The Europa-Park management officially informed the special-purpose association of its interest in making a change to the development plans, which formed the basis for the discussed decision.
