Poznańska Street will host the Municipal Police Command, traffic departments, and modern specialized equipment warehouses.

Three-Year Construction Plan

Adaptation and construction work is to be completed within three years, enabled by the agreement signed on February 16.

On Monday, February 16, 2026, a groundbreaking document was signed, paving the way for an unprecedented construction investment in Wrocław. The agreement between Lower Silesian Voivode Anna Żabska and Chief Inspector Paweł Półtorzycki, the Provincial Police Commander, concerns the creation of a Police Center. The investment will be built on the site of former military barracks at Poznańska Street 48-80. This area, covering approximately 11 hectares, equivalent to the size of 15 football fields, will be fully adapted for the needs of uniformed services. According to plans, the complex will include about 30 facilities, including modern headquarters for the Municipal Police Command and the Traffic Department. The Wrocław barracks on Poznańska Street have a rich military history dating back to Prussian times, when they were part of the extensive defense system of the Wrocław Fortress (Festung Breslau). The project is expected to take about three years, meaning the modern center will be commissioned in 2029. The main goal of the undertaking is to optimize the work of officers by integrating many units currently dispersed across various points in the city. In addition to offices and service rooms, the investment includes the construction of specialized warehouses for police equipment and logistical facilities. This is considered the largest financial and organizational challenge in the history of the Lower Silesian PPH. „The investment will involve adapting the complex of former military facilities for the safety and protection of the population of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.” — Paweł PółtorzyckiThe modernization of the former military areas fits into a broader plan for the revitalization of the western part of Wrocław. This investment will not only improve the working conditions of police officers but is also expected to shorten the response time of services in crisis situations. Furthermore, concentrating specialized equipment warehouses in one place will allow for more efficient resource management during large-scale security operations in the capital of Lower Silesia. 11 hectares — is the area of the future police complexWrocław Investment Schedule: February 16, 2026 — Signing of the cooperation agreement; February 17, 2026 — Presentation of the first visualizations of the center; year 2029 — Planned completion of construction and commissioning
